Banneker Family,

The Benjamin Banneker Association once again invites session proposals for its annual Banneker sessions at the 2009 NCTM Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, April 22-25, 2009.

Join us as we return to the site of Benjamin Banneker's historical feats.

Banneker sessions are facilitated by Banneker members and feature the mission and spirit of BBA. Potentional sessions should explicitly with the BBA mission to: "provide educational solutions and policy alternatives to the educational issues, which affect the participation and success" in mathematics for students of African descent. We are particularly interested in programs that offer fresh and innovative perspectives on excellence and equity for Black children.

Successful sessions will be notified by BBA. Note: Speakers will still have to submit a speaker proposal to NCTM, but BBA is guaranteed a number of sessions which are then flagged by the NCTM registration system.
